At Mount Ridley College we are proud to foster a culture of life long learning for our staff which is demonstrated in the professional learning opportunities we offer to new staff, graduate teachers, emerging leaders, classroom teachers and our Education Support staff.
Our teaching is underpinned by the Teaching and Learning Philosophy at MRC.
Some of the programs we offer are detailed below.
Our Graduate program is facilitated by Glen Pearsall, an external consultant who focusses on assisting new teachers to the profession to establish classroom routines and expectations, create a toolkit of Classroom Management strategies and to build confidence.
For new staff to the College, a structured and thorough program is delivered on a weekly basis throughout Term 1 covering all aspects of College Operations such as our Curriculum program, our Student Management processes, online systems and parent teacher interviews.
Throughout the term, staff are invited to attend Building Professional Practice (BPP) sessions after school. These sessions showcase and unpack key areas of focus for the College such as Literacy, Numeracy, Data Collation and English as an Additional Language (EAL) strategies.
This area is overseen by the Assistant Principal- Professional Practice.
